NANCY CAME BY SUNDAY AFTER ALL THE VISITORS CAME TO SEE THE PUPS ON SAT AND SUNDAY. SHE ATTEMPTED TO GET THEM TO SET UP BUT SOME WERE TIRED AND DID NOT WANT TO DO ANY MORE WORK. AT THIS YOUNG AGE THEY ARE JUST LEARNING TO HOLD THEIRSELVES UP ON THEIR LEGS IN A PROPER SET. HARD WORK ON AUNTIE NANCY'S PART. SOME WERE SO TIRED THAT THE CHEESE DID NOT EVEN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

All the puppies are now enjoying the puppy formula that I make for them. They had lots of visitors over the weekend. The pups got tired and wanted to sleep something the do best.

First meal for the NUAs

There comes a time when Mom says Puppies have teeth and hurts too much to feed them. I noticed Jewel wanting to stay away more and was standing when she fed the babies so I decided that they would get their first meal. I make up a formula for them. In it is yellow yolks, yorget, water, can milk or goats milk which ever I can get and water. I blend this all together then add Humane baby rice cereal to just make it a little less watery. They sure did seem to enjoy it once they got the taste.

Some are anxious to start exploring the world and are trying to climb out of the box.
Luana was the first to start and now the others are following. These guys are such great fun. So full of their selves. Jewel is being a great Mom and is loving every minute of it. I hope all of you are enjoying the pics and has anyone guessed who is who in the puppy pile pics? Let me know who you think are the two HUA/AKC pups.

Luana, Pink Girl

Luana means backward wind. She was born feet first so thus her name. First born. She seems to be the first to do it all. May not have as many spots as the others but makes up for it in personality. She is the first I hug every morning. Only two pics as I accidently deleted her other side. Sorry. But you can see her in the climbing out of the whelping box.

Zephyr, Green Girl

Zephyr means West Wind. She still has a small area of her nose trim to go but is looking very nice.

Mariah, Purple Girl

Mariah means Wind. She has all her trim and is looking very nice.

Results of DNA Test on Jewels Litter

I am very pleased to announce that all four of Jewels puppies carry the Low Uric Acid Gene. That means that they are normal uric acid dalmatians. This is a great surprise as usually it is only 50% with a breeding were one of the parents in HUA and one LUA.

We see You

This has been a busy week. Jewel's babies are now 2 weeks and 3 days old. Their eyes are open and when I walk into the room and clap my hands all four little heads pop up. The spotting is coming in nice even Luana is getting more spots. As for Hattie's two babies their eyes are just opening. They are 12 days old. Cher loves to sing and Sonny loves to sleep. All of the pups are over two pounds in weight and doing well. Moms are being good though Jewel still guards her babies more then Hattie does. Sometimes Hattie looks at me as if to say when is it your turn. Hattie has invited Auntie Jama to baby sit but Jama's said NO they are not fun yet.
Jewel's babies are at the "drunk walk" state and are so funny when they try to play with each other. And to think a few days ago they were still crawling around like their cousins Sonny and Cher.
I am not the best with this downloading of pics and you will notice two face shots of Ciro but who cares he has the cuties face I have ever seen and deserves two pics of it.
Have sent off the DNA tests for Jewel's babies so we should know by next week who got the lucky gene!
